How Accuprime engineered a custom payroll platform for a Trinidad and Tobago drilling operator that no off-the-shelf system could accommodate.
JSL Strategic Procurement and Supply Limited operates an offshore drilling crew on Rig 264 in Trinidad and Tobago, with crews rotating on a strict two-weeks-on / two-weeks-off schedule. The company's payroll structure was unlike anything standard payroll software was designed to handle.
With four crews rotating through the same operational positions, statutory deductions specific to Trinidad and Tobago, mixed US and Caribbean tax obligations, position-based pay scales, and travel-time pay rules — every off-the-shelf payroll vendor either could not accommodate the structure or required workarounds that introduced reconciliation errors. The client needed a system built for the operation, not adapted to it.
Four crews on a two-week-on / two-week-off rotation. Pay periods could not be calendar-based; they had to follow the rotation cycle precisely.
Trinidad NIS (National Insurance), Health Surcharge, and PAYE deductions had to be calculated correctly per pay period and per employee, with mixed jurisdiction handling.
Different operational positions on the rig commanded different rates, with travel-time pay and standby allowances applied based on rotation status.
Print-ready A4 payroll reports for the client's records, employer NIS columns, crew filtering, and reconciliation to bank deposits — all auditable.
Accuprime did more than clean up our books. They engineered a payroll platform from scratch that handles our offshore crew rotations. That kind of capability is rare in our industry.
Rather than recommend yet another vendor that would require workarounds, Accuprime engineered FluxWage — a web-based payroll platform built to the client's exact specifications. The system was deployed to a live, production-grade infrastructure and is currently running every pay period for the JSL operation.
We delivered a full-stack solution: backend payroll engine, secure authentication, a clean operator-facing UI, exportable reports in PDF / CSV / Excel formats, and an admin layer for the client's finance team to manage employees, positions, and rotation schedules.
Configurable rotation schedules with automatic pay period calculation. Four-crew rotation handled natively without manual intervention.
Trinidad NIS, Health Surcharge, PAYE, plus US federal and state computations. NIS exemption flagging for eligible employees built in.
Rate cards by position with automatic application based on assignment. Travel-time pay and standby allowances calculated automatically.
A4-formatted payroll registers with employer NIS columns, crew filtering, and employee-by-employee detail. Print-to-PDF native.
Email-based authentication for the client's team. Admin panel for managing employees, positions, rates, and rotation schedules.
Hosted on Netlify with Supabase backend. Resend SMTP for transactional email. Production-grade security and uptime.
FluxWage went live on schedule and has now processed multiple pay cycles for JSL's offshore operation. The client's finance team has moved from manual spreadsheet-based payroll to a system that runs the rotation, computes statutory deductions, and produces audit-ready reports automatically each pay period.
Beyond the operational efficiency, the project demonstrated something important about Accuprime's positioning: we are not just an accounting firm that recommends software. When the right tool does not exist, we build it.
The platform continues to evolve based on client feedback. Recent enhancements include NIS exemption tracking for eligible employees, multi-format export (PDF / CSV / Excel), refined UI for faster pay-period processing, and a marketing presence at jsloffshorepayroll.com.
Custom platform engagements like FluxWage are scoped individually based on operational complexity. We start with a discovery call to understand whether a custom build is the right path or whether existing tools can be configured to fit.
